About Applied Information Inc.

Our products include innovative hardware and software technologies — such as the Glance® SaaS platform — that help cities and transportation agencies improve mobility, reduce response times, and enhance roadway safety through smarter infrastructure. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with offices in Cape Town, South Africa, and India, we work across continents to deliver real-world impact through connected vehicle technology, smart traffic management, and advanced emergency response systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Social Media & Digital Content Manager to join our Cape Town office. This full-time, in-office role is responsible for managing and executing Applied Information’s social media presence, supporting marketing initiatives, curating and producing engaging content, and helping operate our online training platform.

You will work closely with the Communications/Marketing/Graphic Design team to drive campaigns across multiple platforms, communicate our brand message, and ensure consistency across all digital channels. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and passionate about connecting with a wide range of audiences through impactful digital storytelling.

This role requires someone who can work independently while collaborating closely with a global team, especially the U.S.-based marketing and communications team. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to travel to the USA office to meet your direct manager and engage with the USA team — who you will be working closely with on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and execute social media strategy across all platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media platforms

Maintain a consistent posting cadence and develop a forward-looking content calendar covering product updates, webinars, internal events, customer success stories, industry trends, and more

Create, schedule, and post original content — including copy, graphics, photos, and short videos — aligned with company goals and branding

Curate and support written and visual content creation for both marketing and social media channels

Support live coverage and promotion of company events (e.g., conferences, internal events, and webinars)

Write and edit copy for newsletters, blog posts, event promotions, social campaigns, and landing pages

Work with internal teams to source content ideas and ensure technical accuracy

Assist with the operation of our online training platform (Applied Information Academy), including uploading new videos, basic video editing, and maintaining a library of up-to-date training resources

Use tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, and basic video editing platforms to help create marketing visuals and video snippets

Support ongoing marketing initiatives as needed, working closely with the marketing team across the U.S. and South Africa

Ensure brand voice, consistency, and clarity across all channels and content types

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in social media marketing, digital content creation, or marketing communications

Native English speaker with strong proficiency in excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Experience working with LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and content scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Later, or native platform scheduling)

Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design tools

Basic video editing skills (e.g., trimming, subtitles, transitions)

Prior experience working in the technology, transportation, or infrastructure industries is a bonus

     Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to interpret direction clearly and produce accurate, creative content

Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced team

Strengths and Attributes

     Hardworking and driven

     Highly detail-oriented

     Creative and visually thoughtful

     Self-starter who takes initiative

Wants to make a real difference in their work

Thrives working independently while collaborating across global teams

     Adaptable, efficient, and professional

Committed to maintaining a polished and consistent brand presence

Additional Requirements

Must hold a valid South African passport

Must reside in Cape Town or be willing to relocate at your own cost (relocation assistance is not provided)

Must have reliable transport to and from our Bellville office. This is a full in-office role

Required to work adjusted hours (e.g., later start and end times) to support real-time collaboration with U.S.-based managers and teams

Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented office environment and engaging proactively with others
