Applied Information, Inc. is a nationwide leader in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), connected vehicle technology, and smart city solutions. Our Glance® platform, AI-driven transportation components, and connected school-zone and emergency vehicle systems help agencies improve safety, efficiency, and mobility.
We design and manufacture advanced electronic, AI-enabled hardware used in traffic intersections, emergency vehicle preemption, connected school beacons, transit systems, and V2X infrastructure.
We are seeking a hands-on, highly accountable Production Supervisor to lead and develop our growing production team. This is a critical leadership role overseeing the daily operations of 8–10 Production Technicians assembling, configuring, and testing our precision electronic systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of 8–10 Production Technicians.
Train team members on assembly methods, testing procedures, ESD protocols, safety, and quality expectations.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive training and competency records.
Conduct daily stand-ups, prioritize tasks, and set clear expectations for output and accountability.
Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
Production, Assembly & Testing
Manage daily assembly of AI-enabled electronics, traffic control hardware, connected vehicle systems, and communication modules.
Ensure all work follows engineering documentation, BOMs, assembly drawings, test scripts, and controlled procedures.
Oversee functional testing, calibrations, burn-in procedures, and verification of connected and IoT hardware.
Work closely with Engineering to resolve build issues, validate prototypes, and support new product introductions (NPIs).
Planning, Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule work orders, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion to support delivery commitments.
Track production output, WIP, yields, and cycle times; identify bottlenecks and corrective actions.
Collaborate with the Purchasing, Shipping & Inventory Control Manager to resolve material shortages and optimize material flow.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to maintain compliance and drive defect reduction.
Reporting & Oversight
Report directly to the Director of Production on daily/weekly output, staffing, quality issues, and material status.
Prepare and maintain KPIs including throughput, on-time completion, first-pass yield, labor efficiency, and training compliance.
Identify improvement opportunities and make data-driven recommendations to leadership.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Enforce ESD controls, proper handling of sensitive electronics, and overall workplace safety.
Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready production area.
Hold team members accountable to company policies, quality standards, and ITS industry expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
3–5 years supervising electronics, hardware assembly, or manufacturing teams.
Strong knowledge of electronic assembly methods, testing procedures, and quality processes.
Experience with AI-enabled hardware, PCB assemblies, cellular IoT devices, or embedded systems preferred.
Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and follow-through.
ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES WE VALUE
Experience in ITS, traffic control hardware, telecom, or IoT is beneficial.
Ability to lead by example and remain hands-on with production tasks when needed.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous-improvement mindset (Lean/5S experience is a plus).

LOCATION REQUIREMENT
Must reside in Georgia and be able to commute to our Alpharetta, GA office.
