Compensation: $18-25/hr DOE, 40 hour work week + University Credit

About the Role
Applied Information is seeking Summer Interns to support projects across our core business areas: Traffic, Public Transit, Remote Communications/Video Streaming, Fire/EMS, Law Enforcement, and Connected Vehicles.
Interns at Applied Information contribute to real-world projects that enhance transportation safety, reliability, and efficiency. Depending on your background and interests, you may support activities in areas such as data analysis, product development, engineering, field operations, business analysis, or customer-facing initiatives.
You will collaborate with experienced professionals to help transform operational, technical, and business inputs into actionable insights, effective solutions, and improved user experiences for our products and services.
This position is on-site only in Alpharetta, GA, and is open to current undergraduate (junior year equivalent or higher) and graduate students, as well as recent graduates who are completing their degree in the Fall 2025 semester/trimester.
Responsibilities
Support team projects and day-to-day operations through research, documentation, and coordination tasks.
Assist with preparing and organizing information such as data, records, customer details, or project materials.
Help create and update materials such as reports, presentations, dashboards, documentation, or customer-facing resources.
Participate in basic analysis (e.g., reviewing data, feedback, or process steps) to identify trends, issues, or opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to testing, review, or quality checks for team deliverables (e.g., software features, communications, documentation, or process changes).
Collaborate with team members across functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Support, HR, Operations) to support shared goals.
Document work completed, lessons learned, and recommendations to support future projects and interns.
Qualifications
Required:
Current undergraduate (junior or above) or graduate student enrolled in a 4-year college/university, or recent graduate within six months of internship start.
Major in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Business, Marketing, Communications, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated interest in technology, transportation, public safety, smart cities, or related domains.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Comfort working in a team environment and collaborating with colleagues from different departments.
Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace); willingness to learn new tools and systems as needed.
Preferred:
Relevant coursework, projects, or prior internship experience aligned with one or more teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Software Engineering, Data/GIS, UI/UX, HR, Logistics, Customer Support).
Familiarity with at least one of the following, depending on interest area:
Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, SQL)
Data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, GIS tools)
Design and UX tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, similar)
CRM, marketing, HR, or logistics/order management systems
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, learning-oriented mindset.
Additional Information
Experiential Learning credit will be sponsored in coordination with your academic program. Academic credit for real-world experience is valuable and students should receive credit for their professional development.
This position is on-site only in Alpharetta, GA. This position is not eligible for remote work, however the work schedule may be flexible.
Qualified candidates must be able to commute to Applied Information’s offices in metro Atlanta, or temporarily relocate to metro Atlanta for the summer to be eligible for this intern position.
U.S. work authorization is required. This position is not eligible to be sponsored for any visa or special work permit.
Interns will be provided with the requisite technology and working space. All work shall be conducted on company devices only.
Physical Demands / Work Environment: This position is performed in a professional office environment. While this position may occasionally assist with simple office tasks (e.g., moving light materials or equipment), the role does not require lifting or carrying as a condition of employment.
